Directions to The Limes from the M27 via Chain Ferry
Take M27 west which then turns into A31 across New Forest.
Just after Ringwood take large turning to left signed Bournemouth Airport (A338). Follow that road crossing straight over a number of roundabouts and junctions through Bournemouth until you reach a roundabout with large white building in the middle (Liverpool Victoria House).
On that roundabout take the third junction signed Canford Cliffs and Compton Acres. Carry on through Canford Cliffs until the mini roundabout at the Loch Fine restaurant on the left. Turn left, continue to next T-junction at the edge of Poole Harbour.
Turn left and follow signs to Ferry.
Take the Sandbanks chain ferry across Poole Harbour, which saves about 25 miles driving, and follow signs to Swanage. The ferry runs daily between 7am and 11pm and leaves from the Sandbanks side at 20 past, 20 to and on the hour. See their website for current toll charges.

Direction to The Limes via Wareham
Take the A31 across the New Forest passing Ringwood and on towards Ferndown, continuing straight on over several roundabouts, until you reach the junction with the A347. Take the first exit off that roundabout (signposted Bournemouth) and continue along the A347. Watch out for speed cameras! Remain on the A347 until it becomes the A348 at Longham. Continue over Longham bridge and on along the A348 over several roundabouts until you reach a roundabout where the A348 joins the A3049, which is signed to Dorchester.
Take the A3049 and continue across two roundabouts until you join the A35 signposted Dorchester and Blandford. Continue until you reach the 'Bakers Arms' roundabout (pub on right hand side) and take the left turn A351 signposted to Wareham. Continue towards Wareham (again, watching out for speed cameras). Remain on the A351, ignoring signs to Wareham town centre, continuing through Corfe Castle and Harmans Cross into Swanage.

On arrival in Swanage
Follow signs to town centre and, on joining the one way system, to "Durlston Country Park". After forking left, you will see an Italian restaurant on your left called La Trattoria (The Tratt). Turn right immediately opposite the restaurant into Park Road and The Limes is about 250 metres up the hill on the right-hand side.
If there is no available parking at the front, carry on up the hill and turn right at the first junction, then take the next right and the next right again and you will see The Limes Car Park on the right-hand side.
