LOCATION
The Limes is situated in a residential area approximately 250 metres up a steep hill from Lower High Street. The road is quiet and there is unrestricted parking on both sides. Clearly it is imperative that no-one parks in front of residents' drives.
ON ARRIVAL
Parking is usually available on the road at the front of the building. If not, carry on to the top of Park Road, turn right, right and right again and come down Taunton Road. Our car park is signed on the right-hand side, immediately behind the building. Please be aware that we have less spaces than rooms. Please park in side bays first to allow latecomers to fill the middle at busy times. We ask guests who park in the middle to leave their keys, either with us or accessible in their rooms, in case we need to move cars in an emergency. If all else fails, double park outside the front of the and we will advise about parking.
Entry at the front (into the conservatory) is up four steps. A handrail is planned as part of our maintenance programme but is not there yet. Watch this space!
From the car park, access is via a path down the side of the hotel and again, in the front door. Note that there are several steps between the car park and the front door.
There is no guest access to either the front or back garden.
Check-in is from 4pm (unless an earlier time has been pre-arranged). When checking-in, please let us know if you are hard of hearing or have any particular requirements.
INSIDE
The majority of The Limes was built in 1895 and is therefore a tall Victorian house spread over several floors. There is one main staircase which has a banister rail to one side only. There is no lift access.
Ground Floor
The hall is tiled with the original Victorian floor tiles. On the ground floor you will find the dining room, residents' sitting room, licensed bar and, up a few steps, a games room with a pool table and a cloakroom with W.C. and handbasin.
Upper Floors
All twelve bedrooms, are spread over three upper floors. All double, twin and family rooms are ensuite as is one single. The other single rooms share two bathrooms on the same landing.
Notes
Dogs and children are very welcome at The Limes and dogs are allowed everywhere except the breakfast room, though it is possible to eat in the front conservatory and have the dog with you.
